The Business Analyst will assist with all phases of the ecommerce software product life cycle, including the gathering and translating of business requirements into user stories and functional specifications, validating requirements with customers and internal stakeholders, elaborating requirements sufficient for the development team to carry forward, building test plans and test cases, and constantly seeking ways to improve the current processes. This rolewill work closely with product management, marketing, sales, customer service, and customers. This role requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to make smart decisions quickly with data, analysis, and defensible confidence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Document business processes, elicit requirements from customers and internal stakeholders for new projects.
Synthesize requirements into clearly written user stories, planned in iterations.
Generation of various types of artifacts as required by each project.
Develop requirements specifications, drive the design or review of test cases, and create change request documents as necessary.
Management and grooming of the requirements backlog.
Engage various levels of stakeholders to understand their needs.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the truly underlying needs.
Works with business leaders to define project scope and performs quality review checks on project deliverables.
Build test plans for new processes and functions.
Work with and coordinate cross functional project teams to manage execution of project test plans.
Communicate new features/releases schedules to stakeholders.
4+ years prior work experience in a Business Analyst role, technology-focused a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA a plus.
Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Highly level of self-motivation and multi-tasking abilities.
Possesses advanced analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into analytical requirements.
Prior and relevant experience working in this role, with demonstrable knowledge of SDLCs, Lean methods, and iterative specification, validation, and design methods.
Requires progressive thinking and professional presentation with common sense and judgment in a broad business perspective.
Ability to research and document both current and future business processes (workflows, process maps, gap analysis, user stories).
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability communicate and influence.
Experience working closely with development and testing teams.
Recognizes great UX and understands the importance of good functionality, not just meeting stated requirements.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and work under deadlines.
Flexible in approach and able to work across multiple projects concurrently.
